It's available on Steam and GOG (and probably others too) for $10, but it goes on sale pretty often since Double Fine, the developer, got the rights to it back from the original publisher. It's quite a unique game, and very trippy given that it's about psychics and entering people's subconscious minds. It's kind of a hybrid of 3D platformer gameplay and old-fashioned adventure game presentation and writing (Tim Schafer, who directed and wrote it, is a veteran of LucasArts from when they used to make adventure games), and there's a little bit of Zelda-style ability progression and specific ability-based boss fights too. The jump from single-screen or flip-screen graphics to scrolling graphics during the golden age of arcade games was a pivotal leap in game. The overworld is also pretty open, and has almost as much stuff to collect as the levels. A side-scrolling video game, sometimes shortened to side-scroller, is a game in which the action is viewed from a side-view camera angle and the screen follows the player as they move left or right.
